Thought I’d share a picture of my Rancho in the Zacatecas sierra.
It began as an Hacienda, flourished after the Mexican revolution/the granting of lands to the campesinos and now mostly uninhabited adobe homes since the mass exodus to the US began circa 1970′-80’s.
It’s deep in the mountains. You have to Take dirt roads to get here, no paved streets, no cell phone signal, no internet, everyone lives off the land, 1 hour away from the nearest “big” city and my kids love going.
If you ever get the chance to visit one of these ranchos, take it. It’s a slice of Mexico most people will never experience. Saludos
