Guanajuato City, Guanajuato – A Genuine Mexican Experience
Guanajuato City is a colonial city in the central Mexico highlands. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded in 1559. Originally a mining town, it’s now known for its rich culture, historical importance, festivals and boasts a world renowned University. It’s quite diverse and I saw more foreigners here than in nearby San Miguel. It’s nestled in between the mountains and a series of wide tunnels extend under the city to help divert traffic and keep the city from flooding. Energy and Vibrancy – are two words that came to mind when we first arrived in Guanajuato. They say Guanajuato is the most beautiful city in all of Mexico but we’ll let you decide for yourself as we take you along this photo journey with us. Enjoy!
